The introduction of the operating microscope into clinical endodontics has revolutionised treatment, enabling us to see and to simply treat teeth that were once difficult and inaccessible.

This is no more so in evidence than with apical surgery. Once a slightly hit and miss affair, the microscope has enabled us to refine our techniques, making microsurgical endodontics a straight forward, predictable procedure that when used correctly will enhance your ability to save your patient's teeth.

With a plethora of instruments and materials now available for microsurgery this one day course will take you through the treatment decision making, flap design, root tip resection, retro-cavities, retro-seals and micro-suturing.

This confidence building day is suitable for practitioners with intermediate endodontic skills, who have a familiarity with the operating microscope or illuminated loupes and reading CBCT scans.

".....Microsurgical endodontics can have excellent predictability and success when done properly....."

This 1 day course will provide you with a knowledge and understanding of:

  • The aims and objectives of successful microsurgical enddontics.
  • When to retreat and when to carry out surgery.
  • The use of CBCT in surgical planning.
  • Surgical flap design.
  • Bone management and apicectomy.
  • Retro-cavity preparation and the retro-seal.
  • Flap replacement and micro-suturing.
  • These course objectives will be achieved through small group presentations, practical-based on-line documentation, demonstrations, and hands-on practical tasks using operating microscopes, phantom simulators and pig jaws.

The day will provide 7 hours of certified CPD.
