A Return to Specialist Endodontic Treatment

POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

We are delighted to announce that as a result of government enforced restrictions on non-urgent dentistry being lifted, we are returning to provide specialist endodontic treatment from the 8th June 2020.

All patients will be thoroughly assessed by our clinicians before we can offer an appointment. We mainly treat patients who have been referred to us by their dentists, but if you require an urgent appointment you can self-refer and we will discuss your dental issues. We will try to see everyone except those patients with suspected or confirmed Covid-19, patients who have been advised to self-isolate or those experiencing viral symptoms.

Of paramount importance is the safety of patients and staff and we have taken the following steps to ensure the highest standard of cross infection control:

  • We will use one surgery for consultation at Level 2 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the second surgery for aerosol generating procedures at Level 3 PPE including FFP3 respirators.

  • We have adopted and improved upon the current gold standard hospital Urgent Dental Clinic (UDC) standard operating protocol (SOP), adding additional layers of patient and staff protection.

  • We have deep cleaned the practice and coated all surfaces with a Si-Quot anti-bacterial and anti-viral compound, providing long lasting active protection against SARS CoV-2. We will be carrying out ongoing surface treatments together with microbial sampling to ensure the highest levels of infection control.

Please see our fee guide for indicative treatment costs. If you are part-way through treatment we will need to charge a supplemental £75 per appointment to cover the extra precautions we will be taking to keep you and our staff safe.

Please contact us on 0207-224-1999 or email joanne@endodontics.co.uk if you wish to be assessed for an appointment.

As our service requires special conditions it is only available Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm. Out of these hours please leave a message on our answerphone or email joanne@endodontics.co.uk.

The Process -

  1. We will provide you with a link to register for the clinic. The form will include Pain History and Medical History forms.

  2. Once we have received your registration, your forms will be assessed by us.

  3. We will call within a few hours during working hours (Mon-Fri, 8am to 7pm) to discuss your needs in the light of the information provided and arrange an appropriate appointment. Out of hours we will try and reply as soon as possible.

  4. The appointment will be confirmed by email. Please note that a cancellation fee of £250/hour will be charged for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance of your appointment.

  5. We will maintain contact with you prior to the appointment so that no waiting occurs within the practice environment.

  6. We will take your credit card details on arrival as there will be limited reception facilities at the practice. Payment will be processed after the appointment.

  7. A diagnosis will be reached based on the history of your problem and an external scan using our in-house CBCT scanner. Further mouth examination and tests may be necessary. Level 2 PPE will be used during this stage.

  8. If dental treatment is deemed necessary, we will discuss the plan with you and go through the consent procedure.

  9. Any treatment carried out will be done in our aerosol generating procedure (AGP) surgery using Level 3 PPE.

  10. A report will be generated and emailed to you detailing the diagnosis and treatment carried out, together with any future recommendation. Links will be provided to download of any images, x-rays or scans taken.
